ok! so

tags with slashes in them, such as #personal/, have long been used to make something untrackable/keep it out of the relevant tag for Tumblr Savior purposes. normally, if you try to go to, say, http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/foobar/ it will just discard the trailing slash. however, if you URL escape it and go to http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/foobar%2f then you’ll see all the posts tagged #foobar/ (in this case, just mine)

so if you want to tag something and make the tag untrackable, the only thing that helps right now is adding dashes. at some point, even that might get fixed, although I don’t know if it will or how it will

a warning for if you use punctuation to keep stuff out of tags

probably safer to just use five dummy tags before the one you want to be untrackable, because tags after the fifth tag don’t count outside of your own blog

the other day one of my friends mentioned that they were kind of afraid to hang out with me without other people around bcs they did not know what to do in the event of a seizure, so i feel like i should spread some general knowledge. did u know that seizure first aid is misrepresented about 80% of the time on tv? not cool right

HERE ARE SOME FACTS and then there are no excuses you have to hang out with me

stuff u should do for generalized tonic/clonic seizures i.e. grand mals:

1. try to speak and act in a calm, reassuring manner, inform people nearby they should do the same—no yelling or screaming or general freaking out. i know it’s scary and u don’t want me to get hurt, ty i appreciate, but there is a pretty good chance i am going to be in a state of complete panic and terror, and it’s v. helpful to know someone is there for me and knows what to do

2. clear area of sharp/hard objects and help me lie down

3. if i have glasses? remove them. if i’m wearing a tie? loosen it.

4. put something soft under my head lol yes u probably aren’t carrying a pillow around so like a jacket or something is fine

5. gently turn me on my side that will help keep my airway clear

6. stay with me until i am fully awake, be friendly and reassuring as i return to consciousness again i know u are scared, but don’t worry in the game of scared i have won there is no middle ground

7. time my seizure! if it lasts more than 5 min, if i appear to have difficulty breathing, if my recovery seems slow, if i have a second seizure, if i appear to be in pain or injured as i awake, call 911 (or whatever the number for your emergency service is) this addendum is here bcs fucking health insurance is fucking terrible. IF U KNOW SOMEONE HAS A SEIZURE DISORDER pls ask what they prefer u to do in the event of a seizure

8. if i still seem confused/out of it, offer to call a friend or family member to come get me, or call a taxi

and there is also!

stuff u should not do:

1. DO NOT TRY TO RESTRAIN ME OR STOP MY MOVEMENTS

2. DO NOT STICK ANYTHING IN MY MOUTH i promise it’s physically impossible for me to swallow my tongue

3. DO NOT OFFER ME FOOD OR DRINK UNTIL I AM FULLY CONSCIOUS AND AWARE

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE

stuff u should do for absence seizures (usually manifests as blank staring, loss of awareness, involuntary facial movements like blinking or chewing:

1. speak calmly and reassuringly

2. gently guide me away from and block access to dangers, again DO NOT PHYSICALLY RESTRAIN ME

3. if i appear agitated, stay some distance away, but still close enough to protect me if need be yy u are gonna be my knight in shining armor frand

4. stay with me until i am fully conscious and alert, offer to call whomever etc etc

yup those were some facts. and there are many more kinds of seizures, they come in all flavors. these are just the ones i am personally familiar with! so if you want to know more, always always ask your frand, they will probably appreciate knowing that u are there looking out for them

On that note, do not go south past the 35 juncture or north past Elm Mott

Isis is around a year old. She is a Red Lab. Isis is extremely shy and will probably bolt if you come near her, but if she get’s cornered she’ll sit down and avoid your eye and not do anything. 

Isis is vaccinated, microchipped, and does not bite. She was last seen yesterday (4/16/13) at around 2:00PM, In the Jefferson Park neighborhood.

The ‘Andy’s Coming!’ thing about Toy Story characters at Disney parks has gone viral. This is a very bad thing because it IS NOT TRUE. They will NOT collapse/freeze whatever if someone says Andy is coming.

This is becoming a real problem at the parks because now someone yells ‘Andy’s coming’ around the TS characters an average of every 8-10 minutes, nonstop all day. They will not do what that stupid viral post states they will! Why? Not only can it damage the multi-thousand dollar costumes but it’s also unsafe for the performer and the guests around them. They likely wouldn’t even even be able to get back up due to the weight and limits of the costumes. The castmembers can be fired if they actually do this.

At Disneyland today a guest assaulted Buzz when he did not collapse/freeze when that damnable phrase was yelled yet again. I was informed of this by a friend in the character department. The department is sick of it and it’s quite possible that the TS characters may taken out of commission until the fad passes.

Please repost the ever-lasting shit out of this post so the stupidity can stop.

My best friend Jesse lives in a verbally abusive and neglectful situation in Massachusetts. He is transgender, and no one recognizes him as such, despite his attempts to come out. He suffers from mental illness and the situation is getting to be pretty much life or death now.

There is only one thing keeping him going: Jesse desperately wants to come to college at Minnesota State University. Here he has a support network and he can get the things he needs like meals everyday instead of going hungry, health care like immunizations, LGBT resources, mental health resources like therapy, and more importantly: a bed to sleep in and people who care about him.

The problem is, getting him here takes money, and that’s where we need help. I have asked since the year started for a fundraiser or something to go on to help Jesse. Even if some of the GSA Members can donate, anything would be appreciated, as Avery and I are planning to get him here sometime in May. I can’t work, and Avery shouldn’t have to bear this burden alone either. Jesse cannot work due to severe anxiety, but has been saving up since his visit to see the college this summer. His parents refuse to help him.

I just can’t sit around while my fellow transman and best friend lives in such appalling conditions. Help me help him.

We need $210 dollars for his train ticket, $75 to ease the financial burden of taking his ACT, and the rest will be used to mail his belongings from Mass. to here in MN.  Any money left over will go towards anything he needs for college.

She is without a doubt one of the most badass transwomen ever to plaster her face and intimate thoughts all over Tumblr, her politics are as hardcore as her fashion sense, and her and her partner are pretty much the most adorable thing ever and she has given me great joy and comfort over the past several months of following her. She kinda reminds me of myself, except better, and her and her partner kinda remind me of me and my partner, but cuter and with the courage to share endless amounts of selfies with the entire internet. So I ask you, if you have money to spare, give some to her, she deserves it.
